In addition to communication resources from the rest of the State, Greer has a bi-weekly newspaper. The White Mountain Independent, radio stations from Show Low, Springerville and Flagstaff, and two television channels from Tucson.

Educational

Students from Greer attend school in Springerville, 15 miles away.

Medical facilities are available in Springerville, including one hospital with 44 beds, 10 assisted living apartments, 10 physicians, one optometrist, four dentists, two chiropractors and ambulance service.

Governmental

The community of Greer is governed by the Apache County Board of Supervisors. Deputies from the Apache County Sheriff's Office and Arizona Department of Public Safety patrol the area. The fire department has 25 volunteers.

Airport

Residents of Greer have access to the Springerville-Eagar Airport, (18 miles) with a 6,000-foot runway, UNICOM radio and non-directional beacon.
