Pintail Lake Wild Game Observation - A game and waterfowl preservation area is located at Pintail Lake two miles north of Show Low. This migratory rest area for duck, geese and other waterfowl, boasts unique grasses and reeds. Depending on the time of the year, several wildlife species can be seen. There are observation platforms in the area for the public's use. Pintail Lake has been a cooperative venture between three levels of government outlined to create a man-made marsh ecosystem using treated wastewater. The Pintail Lake project has become the first of its kind in the Southwestern Region of the USDA Forest Service. Show Low Lake Country Park - Show Low Lake Country Park contains 100 acres at an elevation of 6,500 feet and is located one mile off State Route 260 in Show Low on Show Low Lake Road. If you are a trout fisherman, early Spring is the recommended season. Other species include walleye, largemouth bass, bluegill and catfish. If you enjoy shoreline fishing, Show Low Lake is better than most. There is a small bait shop, with boat rentals and launch. Major improvements are underway for shower, bathroom, walk-in store and an observatory. A great place to take the family. Fool Hollow State Recreation Park - Fool Hollow State Recreation Park is located three miles northwest of Show Low. The 140 acre lake is nestled amid some of the tallest stands of Ponderosa pine in the nation. Fool Hollow Lake State Recreational Parks offers excellent camping sites for RV's and tents, boat ramps and docks, fishing piers and fish cleaning stations, play areas for children and an amphitheater facing the lake. Fool Hollow Lake attracts many fishermen in search of largemouth and small mouth bass, walleye, channel catfish, black crappies, bluegills and some brown trout. A fishing pier for the handicapped will also be available.
