The following list of waters are some of the most popular places where these fish can be found. Because water conditions change rapidly, please contact Game and Fish when planning your fishing trip.

NOTE: Most rim lakes are accessible, but some still have some ice. Anglers visiting those lakes with open water are often finding hungry, holdover trout.

  • BEAR CANYON — No reports.
  • BECKER LAKE Fishing activity is fair to slow. Some Apache trout are being taken on small flies and nymphs. Only artificial lures and flies may be used from Oct. 1 to May 25  Lake Description
  • BIG LAKE Partial ice. No reports.  Lake Description
  • BLACK CANYON — No reports.
  • BLUE RIDGE — Accessible. No reports.
  • CHEVELON CANYON — No reports. Artificial fly and lure use only. Any fish between 10 to 14 inches may not be possessed (catch and release them). This is a good time of year to try for the larger brown trout.
  • CONCHO No reports on fishing. Water temperature is in the low 40s.  Lake Description
  • CRESCENT Partial ice covering. The bite could start any time.   Lake Description
  • FOOL HOLLOW Fair for trout. Try small spinners, wet flies, corn, worms or Power Bait.  Lake Descrition
  • GREER LAKES Bunch and Tunnel reservoirs are full. Trout fishing is fair. Try small lures, such as Mepps spinners, Panther Martins or Z-rays. Peacock nymph flies should also work.  Lake Descrition
  • HULSEY No reports. Partial ice conditions.
  • KNOLL — No reports.
  • LEE VALLEY Partial ice conditions. No reports.  Lake Descrition
  • LUNA LAKE Ice is on and off, depending on weather conditions. Water temperature is in the 40s. Fair for trout. Try baits, rather than lures, such as Power Bait, worms or cheese balls. Some anglers are averaging 14-inch trout.
  • LYMAN LAKE Water level is low. Boat launching is difficult. Catfish angling is fair to good using worms or any type of stink bait. Bass fishing may pick up soon if the warm weather continues.  Lake Descrition
  • NELSON RESERVOIR Fair for rainbow trout. Fish are being caught on pink Power Bait, corn, or worms.  Lake Descrition
  • RAINBOW LAKE No reports.  Lake Descrition
  • SCOTT’S RESERVOIR No reports. Water level is low.  Lake Descrition
  • SHOW LOW LAKEFair for trout. Try rainbow Power Bait, worms or small lures. Lake Descrition
  • WOODLAND LAKE Open water. No reports.  Lake Descrition
  • WOODS CANYON — Woods Canyon store is still closed. The access gate is locked. Fishermen have a quarter-mile walk to the water. Most ice is off the lake. Two anglers reported catching 16 trout, including three browns, during an afternoon of fishing using night crawlers and small spinners.
  • WILLOW SPRINGS — Access roads open. Most ice is off the lake. Little fishing activity reported. This is a good time to catch hungry holdover rainbow trout and browns. Try worms, Power Bait, small spinners or Z-rays.

 

WHITE MOUNTAIN STREAMS — Fishing is poor in all streams. There are low water temperatures and icy conditions in the mornings.

  • Arctic Grayling: Lee Valley Reservoir.
  • Bluegill (sunfish): Apache Lake, Roper Lake, Saguaro Lake, Lake Pleasant, Arivaca Lake, and Lake Powell.
  • Carp: Lake Havasu, Lake Mohave, Lake Mead, Lake Powell, Roosevelt Lake, San Carlos Lake, Bartlett Lake, Lake Pleasant, Saguaro Lake, Canyon Lake, and Apache Lake.
  • Crappie: Roosevelt Lake, Bartlett Lake, Lake Pleasant, and San Carlos Lake.
  • Flathead Catfish: Colorado River at Yuma, Roosevelt Lake, Bartlett Lake, the Verde River at Camp Verde and below Horseshoe Lake, San Carlos Lake, and the Gila River at Safford.
  • Largemouth Bass: Alamo Lake, Bartlett Lake, Roosevelt Lake, Apache Lake, Canyon Lake, Saguaro Lake, San Carlos Lake, Lake Havasu, Lake Mead, Lake Powell, and Mittry Lake.
  • Northern Pike: Stoneman Lake and Long Lake.
  • Smallmouth Bass: Lake Powell, Roosevelt Lake, Apache Lake, and Black River.
  • Striped Bass: Lake Havasu, Lake Mohave, Lake Mead, and Lake Powell.
  • Trout Streams: Lee's Ferry and the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon, Oak Creek near Sedona, West Clear Creek near Camp Verde, Canyon and Tonto Creeks near Payson, Little Colorado River near Greer, West and East Fork of the Black River, Salt River in Phoenix, and the Verde River at Camp Verde.
  • Trout Lakes: Lake Mohave, Long Lake, Lynx Lake, J.D. Lake, Bear Canyon, Woods Canyon, Willow Springs, Black Canyon, Show Low Lake, Big Lake, Apache Lake, Blue Ridge Reservoir, Ashurst Lake, Nelson Lake, Knoll Lake, Chevelon Canyon Lake, and Crescent Lake, River Reservoir, Becker Lake, White Horse Lake, Parker Canyon Lake.
  • Walleye: Canyon Lake, Apache Lake, Show Low Lake, Lake Mary, and Saguaro Lake.
  • White Bass: Lake Pleasant.
  • Yellow Bass: Saguaro Lake, Canyon Lake, and Apache Lake.
